Pratis Barns Wedding, Fife

Barn Wedding, Fife, Scotland, Wedding

Where do I even begin with this wedding. A day that I had been so looking forward to yet dreading at the same time as once it was done, it was done. Suzie & Ben got in touch with me about capturing their wedding and as soon as I saw that they were getting married at Pratis Barns I knew that I had to do it. After a lengthly and informal Facetime call they didn’t wait too long before getting back in touch to say they would like me to photography their wedding. Let’s just say I was ecstatic. We arranged to have their pre-wedding session in Glencoe and couldn’t have picked a better day for it. After chatting over coffee we head out to a few classic spots, there were plenty of laughs and someone even managed to get dog-poo on their hands thanks to the lovely Alfie, Ben & Suzie’s dog. Just to be clear that it wasn’t me or Suzie.

The day of the wedding. The morning was extremely chilled and calm, everyone was in great spirits and it felt like I was more nervous than the bride haha! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly offering hot drinks and even alcoholic ones too. The girls were busy at work being taken care of by the lovely Klaudi & Claire whilst Lousie from Pratis Barns was being her cheery self and making sure everyone was ok and happy. Meanwhile myself and Rebecca from R.S.V.P were floating around doing our thing. The stage was then set as Ben and the boys arrived and from what I could gather, they also had a fairly chilled morning after a very early morning run which they did invite me on but I kindly declined. Guests started to arrive and started to take their seats and then the bridal party were given the all clear to make their way from Pratis House round to the Barn.

Once the ceremony was concluded we went straight in to confetti which was incredible and everyone gathered for a group picture before descending on the bar. The weather was in fine fettle for once which made all the difference and there was not a sad face to be seen. The Bride & Groom made their grand entrance for speeches with every guest waving their napkin above their head and made a tremendous nosie as they walked around the room, eventually taking their seats at the top table.

As the meal finished and everyone gathered both inside and outside, the room was turned around for the evening reception and the band set up ready to go. During this point I grabbed Suzie & Ben and pointed to the field and politely said “IN THE FIELD… NOW!” The light was on cue for sunset photos and we probably got some of the most beautiful moments of the day. As the light faded and Ben trying to find his beer in the long grass, we made our way back to the barns for the cake cutting and first dance of the new Mr & Mrs.

A beautiful day and in great company as well, congratulations to Suzie & Ben.

The reception began and evening guests started to arrive and the couple had their first dance together before the party really started!
